We are currently seeking an administrator to provide both clerical and administrative support to members of our team. This role will require someone who has good communication skills and the ability to deal with challenging individuals, whilst supporting the coordination and implementation of office procedures; where you will frequently have the sole responsibility for specific duties and tasks.

We are honoured to have current British and Commonwealth Welterweight champion, Bradley Skeete, as the first official patron of Carney’s Community.

Here at Carney’s we currently have a number of brave (read ‘mad’) people who are undertaking a number of challenges to fund raise for Carney’s Community. We have no statutory funding, so we are dependent on private donations. As a result we always like to get behind those who fund raise for us, and know lots of our supporters do too. So have a look at the list below of current Carney’s Community supporters currently fundraising and, if you feel like it, head over to their donation pages to give them a little bit of financial motivation! All money goes towards (what we like to think is!) a brilliant cause.

We have been working with HMP Brixton and Hilton Hotels to place ex-offenders, recently released from prison, straight into an apprenticeship in the kitchens at Hilton Hotels. Ten have been placed so far! This will help the ex-offenders to get back on their feet and into a new career after their release, reducing the likelihood of re-offending.

We’ve posted a new case study which tells the story of Arnold. Arnold was excluded from school and referred to Carney’s Community. He excelled in sports but struggled to focus on his studies. Our mentoring programme helped him focus on both and with our help Arnold went on to set up our highly successful Get Fit Fast sessions. Read his story here.

  Our first boxing show will take place on Saturday 12 March. Doors open at 2:30pm and the first bout is at 3pm. Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for children and OAPs.

Carney’s Community coaches have been awarded the ‘Physical Activity Project of the Year’ award by Wandsworth Council in their Get Active award scheme. The award recognises the hard work that Carney’s Community does in engaging some of the boroughs most disadvantaged residents in boxing fitness training.
