Social Enterprise Development | Carney’s Community

  • Home
  • SOCIAL ENTERPRISES
Carney’s Community has supported the development of several social enterprises, both those that are completely independent of Carney’s and some that remain part of our work. We encourage participants who are interested in setting up their own businesses for them to have a social impact. This furthers our ethos that once our participants are no longer needing our support, that they can go onto support others.

We currently have three in house social enterprises:

CARNEY’S COACHES

Carney’s Coaches is our boxing sessions and personal training sessions open to members of the public. We set up Carney’s Coaches as a way to provide employment for our participants, many of whom have overcome significant barriers in their lives. All of our coaches undertake significant training with us and are qualified in personal training or boxing coaching. To find out more click here.

Carney’s Cycles

Carney’s Cycles opens to the public in Spring 2025 for bicycle repairs, bicycle parts and second-hand bikes for sale. At Carney’s we run a weekly training course for young people in bike mechanics. Those that complete the course can earn a free bike and have the opportunity to work in our Saturday Bike Shop. To find out more click here. To find out more click here.

VENUE HIRE

When our spaces are not used for our own sessions or for participants, they are available to hire to external groups or organisations. The income from this supports the ongoing work of Carney’s Community. For more information click here.

The social enterprises we have supported to set up independently include:
