Hannah joined Carney’s in June 2023 as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to this she was CEO of a community charity in East London for over 5 years. Hannah has over 15 years of charity experience in excluded communities in London, including as a youth worker, community worker and manager of a community café.
She has a first-class degree in Human Resource Management, a masters in Voluntary Sector Management from Bayes Business School (formerly Cass Business School) and a diploma in Charity Accounting from the ICAEW. Hannah has extensive experience in grant writing, charity finance, human resources and experience in trustee roles including the largest membership organisation for charities in Newham. She set up and managed several projects including Newham’s Trussell Trust foodbank, two 5 days a week youth provisions, children’s holiday schemes and an advice centre.
Hannah is passionate about tackling inequality and utilising her “behind the scenes” skills to enable front-line workers to have the best impact. She is a believer in education and upskilling being the way to transform lives and was drawn to Carney’s approach of upskilling and employing former participants as coaches and mentors.
