Screen Shot 2016-07-22 at 15.29.45The second annual A.I.M. High event for Wandsworth residents aged between 12 and 24 will be on August 17 at Harris Academy, Battersea.

This year we will be there as usual running boxing sessions.

A.I.M. High is about raising aspirations, showcasing local young talent and entrepreneurship, and inspiring young people to make the most of local training and career opportunities.

There will be four different zones:

  • The Performance Zone will feature young performers, live music and DJs and a motivational film
  • In the Opportunity Zone browse stalls with information about jobs, training, business opportunities and more.
  • The Activity Zone is about fun and fitness, including boxing, yoga and a football tournament
  • Relax in the Chill Zone with food and drink

A.I.M. High stands for aspirations, inspiration and motivation. It is a joint project between the council, local charity Carney’s Community and youth development organisation Aspire to be Great, and aims to help young people raise their aspirations and overcome negative stereotyping.

Where: Harris Academy, 401 Battersea Park Road

When: Wednesday 17 August, 1pm-5pm

Entry is free before 3pm and the first 200 people that email aimhighbattersea@gmail.com will get a free food voucher to use at the event.

Come down and get involved, see all the brilliant things that are happening in the community and, of course, have a go at the boxing.
