You have a dream. Something you're passionate about. An idea, that if you could pursue it, could, just maybe, help change your life.

Like most people, you need some help along the way. Some money to help you get equipment, buy training, pay for travel or cover rent. But you also need someone you can trust to help you find your way, make decisions and to bounce ideas off.

This month's boxing awards were given to Luke, Ahmed, Kervon and Yahya.

Each of them received a Carney's Community t-shirt to recognise their commitment to the boxing sessions and the positive attitude they have brought to our community. Well done to the four of them!

Rollapaluza visited our Wednesday boxing session on 9th May and we had a hugely enjoyable evening of boxing and bike racing.

The two fastest young people are pictured. Keyon (left) blew away the competition to take first place.

The current chair of Carney's Community is planning to step down and become a regular trustee in 2018. We are therefore seeking a dynamic individual to help lead us in our next phase of organisational development. We are seeking candidates with strategic insight and a good understanding of charity governance, to lead the board and support the Chief Executive.

As a small charity, we are seeking a chair with a ‘hands on’ attitude who is prepared to get involved in the charity’s work directly, and who can provide around 1-2 days work a month. Please note the position is on a volunteer basis and is unremunerated.

For more information about the role and how to apply, please view the Chair Application Pack.

The closing date for applications 8am, Friday 25th May.

First stage interviews will take place on Thursday 31st May.
